How to reach Phu Quoc from India: flights and fares
There is currently no regular nonstop from Delhi or Mumbai. Vietnam Airlines' India site lists only one-stop itineraries from Delhi via Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi, with return fares from about ₹27,920 for February–April 2027 travel.
Skyscanner showed Mumbai–Phu Quoc returns from about ₹25,473 for early November 2026, also with one stop. VietJet's earlier Delhi and Mumbai nonstops are not running now.
The new option is from Gujarat. Sun PhuQuoc Airways starts Ahmedabad–Phu Quoc nonstop flights on 2 December 2026, five days a week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday), going daily from early February 2027.
The flight takes about 4 hours 45 minutes. A promotional fare from ₹9,596 one way applied only to the first four flights, so check regular fares on the airline's site.
Visa: e-visa or Phu Quoc visa-free entry?
Indians need a visa for mainland Vietnam. The Vietnam e-visa costs US$25 for single entry or US$50 for multiple entry, is valid for up to 90 days, and is issued only on the official portal, evisa.gov.vn. The fee is not refundable.
Phu Quoc has its own 30-day visa-free rule that applies to all nationalities, including Indians, but only if:
- you arrive on the island directly from abroad (an international transit at Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi counts only if you never leave the international transit area);
- you stay only on Phu Quoc; and
- you carry an onward or return ticket and a passport valid for at least six months .
In practice, a Delhi or Mumbai itinerary with a domestic Ho Chi Minh City–Phu Quoc leg does not qualify, so buy the e-visa. The Ahmedabad nonstop does qualify if you stay on the island.
Where to stay in Phu Quoc and hotel prices
Most budget travellers stay in Duong Dong, the main town, close to the night market and Long Beach. Typical prices per room per night (approx)

- 4-star: 1.5–3 million VND (₹5,500–11,000)
- 5-star resort: 3–10 million VND (₹11,000–36,800) and up
The south (An Thoi, Sunset Town) suits the Hon Thom cable car; the north (Ganh Dau, Bai Dai) is where VinWonders and the Safari are.
Food, local transport and activity costs
Food: A banh mi costs 25,000–35,000 VND (₹90–130), a bowl of pho 70,000–90,000 VND (₹260–330) in tourist areas, and a local rice meal 50,000–70,000 VND. Indian food is easy to find: Ganesh Indian Restaurant on Tran Hung Dao Street in Duong Dong is one option, and several other Indian restaurants sit on the same street. Budget about ₹1,100–1,850 a day on local food.
Getting around: Grab works on the island. The airport to Duong Dong costs about 120,000 VND (₹440) by Grab and roughly double by taxi. Scooters rent for 100,000–250,000 VND (₹370–920) a day; you need a valid licence and an International Driving Permit to ride legally.

FAQs
Where is Phu Quoc?
Phu Quoc is Vietnam's largest island, in the Gulf of Thailand off Vietnam's south-west coast, near the Cambodian border.
Is Phu Quoc worth visiting from India?
Yes, if you want a beach holiday with theme parks and island tours at Southeast Asian prices. On a budget, the Phu Quoc trip cost from India is about ₹42,000–58,000 per person for 5 days. It is less suited to travellers who want culture-heavy sightseeing, which mainland Vietnam does better.
How many days are enough for Phu Quoc?
Four nights is enough for the island-hopping tour, the Hon Thom cable car, a beach day and the northern parks. Five nights suits families who want VinWonders and the Safari on separate days.
Do Indians need a visa for Phu Quoc?
Not if you fly in directly from abroad (for example, the Ahmedabad nonstop from December 2026) and stay only on the island: Phu Quoc allows 30 days visa-free. If you connect through a domestic flight in Vietnam or visit the mainland, get the Vietnam e-visa (US$25) from evisa.gov.vn.
